AAIB investigation to Cessna 172P Skyhawk, G-NWFC

Heavy landing, North Weald Airfield, Essex, 10 July 2016.

Summary:

皇冠体育app aircraft was on final approach to Runway 30 at 65 kt IAS and with 20掳 of flap set. 皇冠体育app pilot reported that the wind was from 200掳 at 20 kt and that the approach was normal until, during the flare, the aircraft experienced a gust of wind. 皇冠体育app aircraft 鈥渄ropped suddenly鈥� onto the runway, bounced back into the air before settling back onto the runway and coming to a halt. Because he considered that the aircraft nose landing gear might have been damaged during the landing, the pilot shut down on the runway and asked for assistance to move the aircraft.
