£19 million culture boost for Bexhill (Levelling Up Fund 2)
Over £19 million from the Levelling Up Fund will support a cultural regeneration in Bexhill.
Transforming and upgrading the De La Warr Pavilion
»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp first opened in 1935 on Bexhill seafront. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp arts centre now plays an important part in the community, where local people can experience contemporary exhibitions, events and entertainment. Levelling Up funding will support a variety of key upgrades to the building that safeguard its future.
Upgrades to the building include:
- new community learning spaces
- refurbishment of galleries and auditorium facilities
- improved accessibility
- new facilities for conferences and events
New community facilities at Sidley Recreational Grounds
»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp De La Warr Pavilion and Heart of Sidley have developed and delivered a variety of programmes for the community for over ten years. Levelling Up funding will support the development of a new community centre at Sidley Recreation Ground for the programmes to be held.
»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new community centre will include:
- new learning spaces
- upgrades to the current changing room and toilet facilities making them more accessible
- space for local residents and community groups to host workshops and training sessions
»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new facilities will better connect Sidley and the De La Warr Pavilion with the town centre.
