£20 million allocated to revitalise Cannock town centre

Cannock town centre has been allocated £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund to support local transformation.

A new cultural hub

Plans include demolishing the former multi storey car park and indoor market hall. This will allow the refurbishment of »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp Prince of Wales theatre on Church Street. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new cultural hub will include:

  • a new two-screen cinema
  • a bar and restaurant

Support for businesses and entrepreneurs

Cannock’s new planned workspace for businesses and entrepreneurs will:

  • offer business coaching as part of a business accelerator scheme
  • increase footfall in the town
  • create 190 new jobs

Funding was also allocated to support Cannock’s new Northern Gateway. This will see the removal of the existing subway and better links between:

  • Beecroft Road Car Park
  • the town centre
  • the bus station
