£300,000 for Ballymacash Sports Academy

Ballymacash Sports Academy has been awarded £300,000 from the Community Ownership Fund to provide sport facilities for local people.

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp football club, which was formed in 1984, has nurtured the ambitions of many aspiring footballers. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp investment will modernise and improve facilities at the Academy’s Rushmore Drive site.

Rushmore Drive Improvements

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp improvements include:

  • mini allotments and a community garden
  • a new full size floodlit 3g pitch
  • 100-seater spectator stand
  • outdoor gym equipment
  • perimeter fencing

Benefits to the local community

Improvements to the Academy will benefit the local community by:

  • providing better links between the academy, schools and the community
  • increasing participation in sport for all genders, ages and abilities
  • offering affordable skills sessions
  • creating new job opportunities

Funding will ensure that the academy responds to the community’s needs and provide a modern sports facility for the local area.
