Whitley Bay Big Local was awarded £300,000 to transform a former job centre into a new low carbon Eco Hub.

  • helping to reintroduce the Whitley Bay carnival

New facilities for the community

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new Eco Hub will be located on Whitley Road. It will provide an inclusive green space for the variety of activities already on offer.

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new facilities will include:

  • a low carbon meeting space
  • energy efficient units to rent
  • a resource hub

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp charity hopes to use the space to educate people about climate change and the environment. Public consultations will ensure the new building responds to the community’s needs.

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp new hub in Whitley Bay will:

  • provide a community space that’s fit for purpose
  • complement the government’s Net Zero agenda
  • promote greener living in the area
