Over £19 million investment to rid Dudley Road of delays and congestion

Over £19 million Levelling Up Fund investment is to go to the A457 Dudley Road, a vital artery of Birmingham city.

Upgrades benefit all road users

  • boosting public transport
  • cutting journey times
  • reducing congestion

All road users will be able to move more efficiently along the corridor due to:

  • improved sustainable transport facilities
  • better traffic management

A representative of Birmingham City Council, said:

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp Dudley Road Levelling Up scheme will catalyse the desperately needed economic growth and regeneration in the area, improving quality of life and tackling health and economic inequalities. This means improving journey times and reducing congestion, so a really important part of the scheme is improving bus lanes and pedestrian and cycling facilities within this key travel corridor. This is another vital cog in the wheel of our Route to Zero carbon strategy.

A catalyst for future regeneration

  • living conditions for residents within the A457 Dudley Road corridor
  • the experience for commuters

Plans include:

  • employment opportunities
  • 3,000 new homes
  • new local facilities

Alignment with local and national objectives
