Census output area data on workless benefit claimants in 2010

Experimental official statistics prepared to help identify very small pockets of worklessness and explain the nature of worklessness.

Output areas are spatial areas that contain between 80 and 150 households.

This data benefits analysis and operational planning at neighbourhood levels. It helps identify the neighbourhoods we target for extra assistance and it might also be used in GIS software.

皇冠体育app data

皇冠体育app statistical releases of census output area data on workless benefit claims are published every 6 months.

皇冠体育app figures have been rounded in line with DWP policy and to minimise the risk of individuals being identified. 皇冠体育app statistics are rounded to values of 5 using a probabilistic method. We have also used a controlled rounding technique to make sure the total is consistent with the sum of the values in related cells. Users should therefore be careful when interpreting the data.

皇冠体育app statistics have been checked for consistency with published national statistics at higher spatial levels. Breakdowns are available by census output area and benefit type. We have also published the relevant ward and local authority district codes.

Data are not released for Scotland as the smaller size of data zones means the rounding method would not produce useful results.
