Review of the Nutrient Profiling Model

皇冠体育app NPM was originally developed by the Food Standards Agency to provide Ofcom, the broadcast regulator, with a tool to differentiate foods and drinks on the basis of their nutritional composition. 皇冠体育app model aims to restrict TV advertising for products that are high in fat, salt or sugar to children. Current guidance on the NPM can be found at the Nutrient Profiling Technical Guidance.

PHE are carrying out a review of the NPM on behalf of the Department of Health. 皇冠体育app review aims to ensure that the NPM reflects the latest dietary guideline, in particular, recommendations made by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition in their report on Carbohydrates and Health published in July 2015.
