Following this consultation, the government has laid a draft Public Bodies Order to change some of Ofcom鈥檚 duties and functions. 皇冠体育app changes are meant to provide greater flexibility for the regulator, and to remove unnecessary duplication and spending.

Alongside the Order, we have laid an explanatory document, which provides a summary of the responses received, the changes we are bringing forward, and why.

Consultation description

In Summer 2010, we analysed the Office of Communication鈥檚 (Ofcom鈥檚) duties and powers so that we can:

  • help reduce duplication and unnecessary spending
  • increase efficiency, transparency and accountability

We want your views on the changes that our analysis identified, which are set out in this consultation document.

Annex A and B can be found at the end of the consultation document. Due to its length, we have published Annex C separately, which is a summary of existing legislation relevant to this consultation.
