Consultation description

皇冠体育app triennial review of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) will examine its functions, its governance arrangements and whether other delivery models would be more appropriate and in keeping with the government鈥檚 reform commitments.

Triennial reviews are part of the government鈥檚 rolling reform programme to consider whether bodies remain fit for purpose and continue to offer value for money.

皇冠体育app review will be proportionate to the scale of the MMO, and recognise both that it is a comparatively new organisation in its current form, and that aspects of the MMO have been subject to a number of reviews since 2010. This review will take into account the conclusions drawn from relevant recent reviews.

Defra is keen to hear from people with an interest in the MMO鈥檚 activities to understand their views of the organisation鈥檚 current performance, and the scope and benefits of any potential changes.

We aim to publish the conclusions of the review in early 2014.
