British Embassy Bangkok supports LGBTI Groups in South East Asia

On 27 November 2016 the British Embassy in Bangkok, in close partnership with APCOM and Stonewall UK, hosted a panel of LGBTI activists.

皇冠体育app activists from Burma, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Thailand discussed the challenges facing their communities. APCOM, a Bangkok-based coalition of campaign groups from across the region, arranged the event. Margaret Tongue, the British Charg茅 d鈥橝ffaires, spoke highlighting the UK鈥檚 strong support for LGBTI communities and rights. You can read (PDF, 162 KB, 2 pages).

皇冠体育app panel preceded a larger reception at the British Ambassador鈥檚 Residence, again in partnership with APCOM and Stonewall UK, to mark the holding of the International Lesbian and Gay Association鈥檚 (ILGA) 28th World Conference in Bangkok and APCOM鈥檚 10th anniversary. 皇冠体育app reception included the premier of APCOM鈥檚 animated film about the Yogyakarta Principles and floating rainbow kratong lanterns on our lake.
