Chair: 鈥業t was great to hear how valued CNC is to Hinkley'
Members of the Civil Nuclear Police Authority and CNC鈥檚 Executive team were hosted by Inspector Charlie Humphries at Hinkley Point on 4 and 5 October.

皇冠体育appy were given a tour of EDF鈥檚 Hinkley Point B site, the first advanced gas-cooled reactor to generate electricity to the grid in the UK, as well as a tour of the viewing platform where an explanation of the defueling process, which began in in 2022 and is due to complete in 2026, was given.聽
皇冠体育app Board then toured the Hinkley C site by coach.聽This new two-unit pressurised water reactor began build in 2017 and Hinkley C is the largest construction site in Europe, covering 430 acres.聽
Susan Johnson, Chair of the Police Authority, said: 鈥淚t was great to hear from EDF鈥檚 senior managers how much they value the professionalism and contribution of CNC to the success of Hinkley B and to its achievement as the most productive nuclear power station in the UK.
鈥淲e heard from our EDF Board member, David Tomblin, about EDF鈥檚 future plans in the nuclear sector. Visits like this provide the Police Authority members with valuable insight into the opportunities, threats and risks facing our Site Licence Operators to help inform our future business plans and service improvements.
鈥淲e also got the chance to speak to our newest AFOs on site, who were in their first week after successfully completing the IFC.聽 We wish them every success in their career with CNC.鈥�
