Countess of Wessex visits Barbados schools
On 28 February, HRH 皇冠体育app Countess of Wessex visited two schools for special needs students in 皇冠体育app Pine, St Michael.
She visited the Ann Hill School for globally disadvantaged young people aged between 11 and 18, where she was greeted by the Principal Mrs Emelda Bell, with Ms Kaye Sargeant, Education Officer from the Ministry of Education. After a brief overview of the school鈥檚 history, the Countess toured classrooms, meeting teachers and students, admiring a display of craftwork.
Her visit ended with a moving performance from the school choir, and the presentation of craft items offered in a basket also made at the school by the head girl.
She then walked to the neighbouring Irving Wilson School, where she met Ms Wendy Blackman, the Principal. 皇冠体育app school is a specialist school for the blind, deaf and autistic children.
皇冠体育app Countess met a number of the pupils in their classrooms, and was treated to an impassioned performance of mime and signing by older students, to a recording of Emmerton by 皇冠体育app Mighty Gabby. Before she left she was presented with a picture by one of the students
