This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Energy Secretary Edward Davey said:

鈥溁使谔逵齛pp competition we鈥檝e introduced to the energy market means people have a choice. 皇冠体育appy can look for the best deal available; including from smaller suppliers, with the confidence that switching will make an immediate difference to their bills and force the Big 6 to compete on price.

鈥淚 recently wrote to energy companies asking them to publish their costs of delivering the Energy Company Obligation. Today鈥檚 announcement shows why that鈥檚 necessary, because British Gas鈥檚 ECO numbers just don鈥檛 add up when you look at what other energy companies are saying about their costs.鈥
