A Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) spokesperson said:

皇冠体育appse charges are the latest addition to a worrying trend of increased pressure upon civil society activities in Azerbaijan. 皇冠体育app FCO reiterates the Minister for Europe鈥檚 statement of 12 May 2014 that, 鈥淧eople to people interactions, and the peace-builders who sustain these links, are an essential element of any peace and reconciliation process.鈥� 皇冠体育app UK calls on Azerbaijan to ensure that the Yunus鈥� are afforded the right to a fair trial in accordance with Azerbaijan鈥檚 international obligations.
皇冠体育app Azerbaijan authorities will be aware of Ms Yunus鈥� personal health issues. It is therefore of utmost importance that adequate medical care and detention conditions are also ensured.
