Foreign Office Minister welcomes hostage release in Colombia

Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne said that kidnapping cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Following the release of six Colombian hostages the Foreign Office Minister said:

鈥淣o-one could fail to be moved by the sight of the freed Colombian hostages meeting their families over the last week after long periods in captivity. Any hostage release is welcome.

But the release of these six men is wholly insufficient. Kidnapping cannot be justified under any circumstances.
