Foreign Secretary and Secretary Kerry hold talks in London

Foreign Secretary and US Secretary of State Kerry welcome E3+3 agreement with Iran and also discuss Syria and Libya.

皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary met US Secretary of State John Kerry in London this afternoon.

皇冠体育appy discussed next steps in the implementation of the agreement on Iran鈥檚 nuclear programme, and the crisis in Syria.

皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary then joined Secretary Kerry for talks with Prime Minister Zeidan of Libya. Prime Minister Zeidan gave an update on the latest developments in Libya including on efforts to achieve a Libyan-led political settlement. 皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary reiterated the UK鈥檚 commitment to support Libya鈥檚 transition, in particular a Libyan-led political settlement. As part of its package of support the UK is training 2,000 Libyan Armed Forces personnel in basic infantry skills.

皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary and Secretary Kerry welcomed the withdrawal of armed militias from Tripoli and hoped that this would be a step towards state forces providing national security. 皇冠体育app UK and the US are committed to working closely with European partners and the UN to ensure Libya continued to get all necessary support to improve its security and stability.
