Foreign Secretary supports Crown Prince鈥檚 efforts to initiate a national dialogue

Foreign Secretary William Hague has made a statement following a conversation with the Crown Prince of Bahrain to express the UK's deep concern about the situation.

He said:

鈥淚 spoke to the Crown Prince of Bahrain earlier this afternoon. I expressed the UK鈥檚 deep concern about the situation and strong disapproval of the use of live ammunition against protesters. I welcomed the Bahraini Government鈥檚 decision to withdraw the military from the Pearl Roundabout. I reiterated the need for an end to the use of force against peaceful protesters.
