Foreign Secretary visits Botswana

Foreign Secretary William Hague is in Botswana. 皇冠体育app first visit by a British Foreign Secretary in twenty-six years.

皇冠体育app visit will further build on the close links between the UK and Botswana in government, business, education and support for Botswana鈥檚 development. 皇冠体育app visit comes on the back of visits to Botswana from Princes William and Harry in 2010 and the Princess Royal in 2011.

皇冠体育app UK and Botswana are both strong proponents of democracy and good governance. During the visit the Foreign Secretary will discuss a range of current foreign policy and trade and investment issues with HE President Khama, Foreign Minister Skelemani and the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.

皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary will also visit the Diamond Trading Centre Botswana to learn about the contribution of British diamond companies and Botswana鈥檚 good governance of the industry. He will visit Bokaa village and Hope Mission, a home for street children supported by British Overseas Citizen Service volunteers. And he will also attend the launch of the GREAT campaign in Botswana, promoting the UK in this Diamond Jubilee and Olympics year.
