Foreign Secretary welcomes new EU sanctions against facilitators of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol

A further group of individuals responsible for the continued illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol will face sanctions thanks to a decision made at the EU General Affairs Council today.

皇冠体育app UK has been at the forefront of EU sanctions action against Russia since their illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol nearly 6 years ago and will continue to play a leading role in international sanctions policy after we leave the EU. 皇冠体育app UK is also providing support to human rights defenders in Crimea so that NGOs can continue to highlight abuses on the peninsula, and seek redress for victims. We continue to stand in unwavering support of Ukraine鈥檚 sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said:

Today, the UK and our international partners have collectively sent a message to Russia that we do not and will not accept its illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol. We will impose serious costs through active maintenance of sanctions on those who seek to incorporate Crimea and Sevastopol into Russia.
