Jeremy Browne meets with Japanese Cabinet Office Senior Vice Minister

Meeting focussed on developing investment and trade cooperation, and sharing views on economic recovery

Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister Jeremy Browne called on Mr Hideo Hiraoka, Japan鈥檚 Senior Vice Minister at the Cabinet Office, on 9 September, and stressed the importance Britain places on Japan as an economic and commercial partner.

He stated that Britain鈥檚 coalition government believed trade and investment should be a key part of a successful foreign policy, and that a genuine and long-lasting economic recovery would have its foundations in the private sector.

Minister Browne also highlighted the huge potential benefits and increased trade flows for both UK and Japanese businesses which could be created through the removal of remaining barriers to trade, specifically non-tariff barriers (NTBs). 皇冠体育app UK and Japan will continue to work together to drive reform in support of growth.
