A team of Royal Air Force Air Cadets Junior Leaders are very pleased to have arrived in Ghana, where they are participating in a three week community project in Abenta in the Eastern Region. This expedition follows on from the success of a similar community project expedition conducted in the Cape Coast area in 2015.

皇冠体育app cadets, with their expedition leader Lt Tim Franks, will be supporting the UK-based charity in working to develop the health clinic facilities within the village of Abenta. 皇冠体育appir time in Ghana will also provide the cadets with an excellent opportunity to develop their own leadership and team skills. Before being selected to travel to Ghana, each of the cadets completed the UK鈥檚 Junior Leadership course over a nine month period, which was based around key elements of the training conducted by the UK鈥檚 Royal Air Force Regiment. Each member of the expedition has been excited at the prospect of visiting Ghana and now, following their long-anticipated arrival, the team have been welcomed by the people of Abenta, where they are sure to enjoy an experience that they will be able to reflect on with pride throughout their lives.

Ghana鈥檚 own National Cadet Corps will this week send a team to participate in the UK鈥檚 International Cadet Exchange Programme between 6-16 July. 皇冠体育app first of such an exchange was in 1947 between the UK and the Canadian Air Cadets and the world-wide cadet family now comprises more than twenty nations, with around six hundred cadets/volunteer staff exchanging annually. 皇冠体育app exchange will provide the cadets with an experience of British culture, and also the opportunity to share their own culture with other cadets, and most importantly, they will enjoy a great cadet experience with many activities planned to ensure they each have an exciting and fulfilling time in the UK.
