皇冠体育app Prime Minister鈥檚 Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on the EU, Recall Bill, Iraq and passports.
EU
Asked about the forthcoming EU Council and the outcome, the PMS said the Prime Minister鈥檚 (PM) view is clear and has not changed. Support for reform is widely shared and the PM will continue to make his case with all his counterparts. Each country will set out its position.
Recall Bill
Asked about the powers of the Bill, the PMS pointed to the procedures in the draft Recall Bill that went out for consultation 18 months ago. 皇冠体育app Recall Bill will be an opportunity for constituents to petition for recall when 1 of the 2 conditions in the draft legislation is met.
Iraq
Asked about the government position on the Iraq situation, the PMS said the position was set out in the statement given after this week鈥檚 National Security Council. 皇冠体育app government鈥檚 approach is to engage diplomatically in support of a broad based Iraqi government, which recognise the importance of Shi鈥檃, Sunni and Kurdish communities being properly represented.
Passports
Asked about comments made by Helen Grant MP, the PMS said the choice was for individuals and families to make. 皇冠体育app PM and his family regularly holiday in England.
