Prime Minister speaks to King of Bahrain

Prime Minister David Cameron has spoken to the King of Bahrain following protests in the country.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Mr Cameron stressed the importance of responding to the protests with reform not repression.

A Downing Street spokesperson said:

鈥溁使谔逵齛pp Prime Minister is also following the situation in Libya closely. He is gravely concerned by reports of escalating violence and large numbers of civilian deaths. We condemn any use of force by the Libyan authorities against peaceful protesters.
