Seminar about climate change and public policiy in Chile
Ambassador Jon Benjamin participated in final seminar for the project 'Integrating climate change into municipal public policy.'

皇冠体育app seminar entitled 鈥溁使谔逵齛pp role of municipalities in the shift and adaptation of climate change practices鈥� was held on 21 November as part of the closing of the project 鈥淚ntegrating climate change into municipal public policy鈥�. 皇冠体育app project was financed by the British Embassy鈥檚 bilateral fund and implemented by the NGO Adapt-Chile in cooperation with the Regional Ministerial Service for the Environment of the Metropolitan Region, the Municipality of Santiago, the Centre of Sustainable Urban Development (CEDEUS-UC), and the Centre for Climate and Resilience Research (CR2).
In his presentation, Ambassador Jon Benjamin highlighted the UK鈥檚 commitment to combat climate change and the need to implement these measures at a local government level.
皇冠体育app objective of the project was supporting municipal climate change management through the generation of proposals in three specific areas: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, opportunities in water management and decreasing the susceptibility to climate change impacts.
Representatives from 15 municipalities of the Metropolitan Region participated in the creation of these proposals during 4 workshops held in the month of October. 皇冠体育app municipalities that participated in the project were: Santiago, Cerro Navia, Recoleta, Pe帽alol茅n, La Reina, Colina, Paine, Puente Alto, Lampa, La Pintana, Independencia, Pudahuel, Huechuraba, Calera de Tango and Estaci贸n Central.
