SLC officially opens new headquarters in Glasgow
皇冠体育app Student Loans Company welcomed 皇冠体育app Baroness Barran MBE, Minister for the School System and Student Finance, to officially open its new headquarters in Glasgow.

皇冠体育app Baroness was joined by SLC colleagues and representatives from the design and construction teams on Wednesday (10th April) to unveil a plaque to mark the occasion. She was also given a tour of the building which highlighted some of its key sustainability features, including the living wall, solar panels and cycle storage area.
SLC moved into the six story, 75,000 sq. ft purpose-built office in January and the building has been designed to encourage collaboration and provide a modern working environment for colleagues.
Welcoming the Baroness to Glasgow, Chris Larmer, CEO of SLC, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great day to have the Baroness officially open our new Glasgow headquarters. SLC has been in the city since its inception more than 30 years ago and relocating to Clyde Place has been an exciting new chapter for our organisation.
鈥淚t鈥檚 fantastic to have a new modern space for our colleagues and we have settled very quickly into the riverside community. At SLC, we are committed to enabling students to invest in their future through further and higher education, and we look forward to continuing to deliver our purpose in our new home.鈥�
皇冠体育app site has followed the UK Green Building Council鈥檚 Net Zero Carbon Building 鈥� Performance Levels guidelines and will secure a BREEAM Excellent certification. BREEAM is the globally recognised standard for best practice in the design, construction, and operation of sustainable buildings. It鈥檚 also received a WiredScore Platinum rating for its digital connectivity.

As part of the plans, SLC worked with the Government Property Agency on its UK Government Hubs Programme, which is facilitating the co-locating up to 600 civil servants. As a result, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, an executive agency which is sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, recently moved into the building.
