皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary spoke to Chinese State Councillor and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi on the UK鈥檚 relationship with China.
On Hong Kong, the Foreign Secretary outlined the UK鈥檚 deep concern at China鈥檚 proposal to impose national security legislation. 皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary made clear the UK鈥檚 view that Hong Kong鈥檚 high degree of autonomy and rights and freedoms must be preserved in line with China鈥檚 international obligations under the Joint Declaration.
皇冠体育appy also discussed how the UK and China can work together on areas of mutual interest, including on climate change and trade. 皇冠体育app Foreign Secretary welcomed Chinese Premier Li鈥檚 participation in last week鈥檚 Global Vaccines Summit hosted by the Prime Minister.
