UK tech start-ups meet leading companies in Irish technology sector
UKTI trade mission to Web Summit event in Ireland enables UK companies to network with leading figures from the Irish technology sector.

A trade mission made up of over 30 UK tech start-up companies attended the 鈥榃eb Summit鈥� in Dublin which took place from 4 to 6 November 2014. 皇冠体育app UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) trade mission was led by the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, who was also a guest speaker at Web Summit.
is considered Europe鈥檚 most influential and international tech event.

- 1,000 exhibitors
- 250+ speakers
- 1000 journalists
- 20,000+ attendees
UKTI reception at Web Summit
One of the highlights of the trade mission was the attendance of 140+ guests at the Web Summit reception held at the British Embassy in Dublin on Wednesday 5 November.
Speakers included:
- Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP
- Gerard Grech, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tech City UK
- Lily Cole, model, actress and founder of Impossible
This reception also provided an excellent opportunity for the UKTI clients to meet leading figures from the Irish technology sector, including representatives from Google, Facebook, Yahoo and Intel.
Web Summit 2015
Now that booking is underway UKTI will once again will be leading both a trade and investment delegation at this year鈥檚 event. Prior to this UKTI will be hosting a tech/innovation event which will set the scene to look for new opportunities within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.
