West Suffolk takes steps to improve its finances for patients
Health regulator, Monitor has closed its investigation at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as the trust has strengthened its financial position.

West Suffolk鈥檚 leadership working with Monitor and third parties has taken a number of positive steps to address the challenges its faces. 皇冠体育appse include:
- securing funding to purchase a new electronic patient records system
- identifying and developing more efficient ways of working
- creating a robust financial recovery plan
West Suffolk has also been working with its commissioners and other local partners to make it sustainable in the long term. Monitor believes this work has been of benefit to the trust and should continue.
Monitor launched an investigation at West Suffolk following concerns about the trust鈥檚 financial sustainability and how well it was doing in meeting its savings targets.
Although the investigation is closed, Monitor will continue to work with West Suffolk to build on the progress made thus far.

We are pleased West Suffolk has improved its financial position as it will enable local people to continue to receive the quality healthcare services they expect.
However, it is important that West Suffolk鈥檚 leadership continues to work hard at securing its long-term financial sustainability. By ensuring it has a good understanding of current and future challenges then exploring and implementing ways of overcoming them.
