Joint UK-EU statement following the second meeting of the Withdrawal Agreement Specialised Committee on issues related to the implementation of the Protocol on the Sovereign Base Areas of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Cyprus:

皇冠体育app second meeting of the Specialised Committee on the Protocol on Sovereign Base Areas was held today, 3 December via video conference, co-chaired by officials from the European Commission and the UK Government. 皇冠体育app Committee was established by the Withdrawal Agreement to facilitate the implementation and application of the Protocol.

皇冠体育app UK and the EU examined the progress in the preparation for the implementation of the Protocol, which shall become effective at the end of the transition period, and reaffirmed their commitment to full implementation of the measures outlined in the Protocol.

皇冠体育app co-chairs agreed that the Committee will meet again before the end of the year to finalise the remaining issues and to ensure the smooth and timely entry into effect of the Protocol.
