Biography
Professor Julie Fitzpatrick was appointed Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) for Scotland in June 2021.
This is a part-time position. Julie also remains Scientific Director of Moredun Research Institute and CEO of 皇冠体育app Moredun Foundation. She also holds a Chair in Food Security at the University of Glasgow鈥檚 College of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.
Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland
皇冠体育app Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland is responsible for:
- providing expert scientific advice to the Scottish Government about science-related issues, evidence and new developments that may have an impact on its work
- championing the use of science to inform policy development across the Scottish Government
- supporting Scotland鈥檚 world-leading science base and its potential to benefit Scotland鈥檚 economy, people and environment
