»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp Department for Transport (DfT) awarded funding to local authorities to produce walking and cycling facilities via the Active Travel Fund (ATF), with tranche 1 funding allocated in 2020 and tranche 2 funding allocated in 2021.

This report explores local authority officers� views, perceptions and experiences of how ATF-funded schemes have worked in their area, including:

  • scheme development
  • consultation and engagement
  • how scheme characteristics affect success
  • network planning

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp report is the first stage of the ATF process evaluation, which was conducted as part of a wider evaluation of the ATF. It provides a summary of the stage 1 findings from the process evaluation, with feedback from 28 funded authorities across England through 4 focus groups.
