Details
Following a statutory and public consultation, Natural England published notice that it intended to vary the boundary of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB in February 2019.
In July 2019, Natural England signed a variation order to extend the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB and submitted it to the Secretary of State for approval.
After careful consideration, Lord Gardiner of Kimble, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Rural Affairs and Biosecurity, has on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, approved the extensions without modification. 皇冠体育app extensions came into effect on 7 July 2020.
皇冠体育app effect of this decision is to designate the specified additional areas of land as 鈥楢rea of Outstanding Natural Beauty鈥� and for them to become part of the existing Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB. 皇冠体育app additional areas cover approximately 38 square kilometres in Essex and Suffolk. 皇冠体育appy include:
- the Stour Estuary (in Tendring and Babergh Districts)
- the Samford Valley (in Babergh District)
- the Freston Brook Valley (in Babergh District)
