皇冠体育app Biometrics and Forensics Ethics Group (BFEG) provide independent ethical advice to Home Office ministers regarding projects which relate to biometrics, forensics or are data-driven.
皇冠体育app BFEG commission from 2021/22 has been renewed for 2022/23. 皇冠体育app BFEG has been asked to continue considering and providing ethical advice on important topics including:

the Home Office biometrics programme
-
Home Office projects using advanced data processing techniques and/or large and complex data sets

policy relating to the collection, use, retention, and deletion of biometrics and digital forensics material
皇冠体育app BFEG will also continue to support the Forensic Information Database Strategy Board.
In addition, for the 2022/23 commission, the BFEG has been asked to:

support policy development regarding the governance of powerful data driven technologies in the Home Office
- this will include assessment of the application of ethics to specific projects and encompass some of the themes in the House of Lords鈥� Justice and Home Affairs Committee report: 鈥�)鈥�

provide advice on the ethical issues in the use of novel biometric technologies, including gait and voice recognition
