In June 2012, the government published its 皇冠体育app Bill is intended to ensure that the police and other public bodies continue to be able to access communications data.

皇冠体育app government invited a joint committee from both Houses of Parliament to subject the Bill to pre-legislative scrutiny. Although the Bill will primarily impact on the police, it also covers the intelligence and security agencies. 皇冠体育apprefore, the Home Secretary invited the Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) to contribute to the pre-legislative scrutiny process.
