皇冠体育appse reports present findings from the Cornwall e-cycle pilot, a scheme which gave people a chance to try using an e-cycle without having to buy one.
皇冠体育app main evaluation report reveals that:
- the pilot was successful in attracting interest from people younger than typical e-cycle users
- roadshows, 鈥榦pportunity to try鈥 (OTT) loans and 鈥榳heels 2 work electric鈥 (W2We) loan schemes could help to address the gender gap in cycling
- a quarter of participants reported never cycling and a lack of confidence 鈥 for these people, trying an e-cycle may encourage them to cycle more
- nearly all OTT and W2We participants used an e-cycle at least once a week and half used an e-cycle at least 3 or 4 days a week
- e-cycles were useful for people with longer commutes, helped people to save money and allowed participants with reduced mobility to get around more easily
皇冠体育app appendices present the full results of social research conducted for the evaluation, alongside information about the research participants and data collection methods.
皇冠体育app learning for practitioners report outlines 15 lessons learned from the pilot, to help inform the development of future e-cycle schemes.
皇冠体育appse reports were produced for the Department for Transport by the University of the West of England with Transport for Quality of Life.
