In October 2013 Department for Transport published 鈥�皇冠体育app strategic case for HS2鈥� which provides a comprehensive explanation of the case for HS2.

Economic case
皇冠体育app 鈥楨conomic case鈥� sets out our economic assessment of HS2 and demonstrates that it represents value for money. It also compares the assessment of HS2 with our economic assessment of potential alternatives.
Financial case
皇冠体育app 鈥楩inancial case鈥� demonstrates that HS2 is affordable. It sets out the funding arrangements for the project and long-term funding envelope for both phases of construction and for rolling stock, including significant contingency.
