皇冠体育app research into public attitudes towards traffic, road use and low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) in England was conducted in 2 phases.
皇冠体育app first phase of the research focused on general public attitudes to traffic and road use, while the second phase explored the views of residents in and around 4 LTNs.
皇冠体育app first phase of the research investigated:
- attitudes towards government action in local neighbourhoods
- views on reduction of traffic and reallocation of road space
- perceptions of traffic and road problems in local neighbourhoods
皇冠体育app second phase investigated similar topics, as well as:
- support for and perceived impact of the LTN in residents鈥� local area
- views:
- on wider implementation of LTNs across England
- of local business owners and those with mobility issues
LTNs are delivered by local authorities (LAs). 皇冠体育appy aim to increase the number of people walking, wheeling and cycling.
皇冠体育app findings of this research will be used to develop future programmes of support for local authorities to improve scope and creation of future transport schemes.
皇冠体育app first phase of the research, the Public Opinion Survey on Traffic and Road Use, was published in November 2020. 皇冠体育app second phase, the LTNs Residents鈥� Survey, was published in July 2021.
