MOD Information Management Report 2019: explanatory text

Updated 24 September 2019

皇冠体育app Ministry of Defence (MOD) is committed to meeting the 30:20 year transition timetable and adherence to each transition year will take precedence over the review of legacy period records. 皇冠体育app review of 1993/94 records is complete and review of 1995/96 records is nearing completion.

皇冠体育app MOD continues to work with 皇冠体育app National Archives (TNA) to ensure that records are delivered to TNA in a timely and consistent manner. 皇冠体育app MOD to TNA delivery plan for October 2018 to September 2019 can be found on GOV.UK. 皇冠体育app delivery plan will be updated annually.

皇冠体育app MOD continues to reduce the volume of previously identified records in the legacy period. 皇冠体育app history, scale and complexity of the MOD means that records may continue to be found from the legacy period, and these will be reported when identified. MOD now reports the number of historic service personnel records for which it no longer has any business need. MOD continues to determine how best to transfer these to 皇冠体育app National Archives.

This Information Management Report includes figures from the Defence Geographic Centre but excludes reporting from Atomic Weapons Establishment and UK Hydrographic Office who submit their own reports.
