Member states are required to ensure that a register of rail infrastructure within their territory is published and updated, and that an implementation plan for providing this information is submitted to the European Commission.

皇冠体育appre are a number of infrastructure owners in the UK that are required to keep a register or ensure that their data are kept on a register maintained by another entity. 皇冠体育app department has asked Network Rail to be the main entity responsible for keeping the UK infrastructure register.

Our first letter refers to the department鈥檚 request that Network Rail act as the co-ordinating body for the UK national register of infrastructure (RINF). This includes registers held by the Channel Tunnel, High Speed 1 and Northern Ireland. Our second letter updates the Commission about the UK鈥檚 implementation plan.
