Details

Before you apply, ensure you read the Woodland Creation Planning Grant (WCPG) guidance page. This provides details on eligibility, the 2 stages of the grant and how the grant works.

You should also read the WCPG terms and conditions.

How to apply

Once you’ve read the WCPG guidance, send us the following forms and documents.

WCPG application and plan

Complete the 3 worksheets in this Excel form to tell us about the:

  • site details
  • applicant details
  • woodland plan objectives

WCPG declaration form

Read and accept the declarations and submit the declaration form with your WCPG application.

Map

You’ll need to submit a map showing the boundary of the proposed woodland. Map elements must include:

  • a clear coloured line marking the boundary, this must encompass the entire area included within the application
  • your Single Business Identifier (if known) and property or site name (as detailed in the WCPG application and plan)
  • the map number and the total number of maps (for example, â€�1 of 3â€�) must be visible and where more than one map is required, an overview map of the entire scheme must be provided
  • there must be a 6 figure OS grid reference for the centre of the map (or OS grid lines)

How long does an application take?

We aim to acknowledge your application and let you know if there is information missing within 3 working days. It may take longer during peak periods. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp decision to offer Stage 1 can take up to 4 weeks from receiving a valid and complete application.

If you have submitted an application, you will receive emails relating to your WCPG application from the following email address: [email protected]. If you are expecting correspondence in relation to a WCPG application, please check your junk folder and accept emails from this address. If you receive emails from this address, please reply to it directly.

Stage 1 and stage 2 offers

Once we’ve approved your initial application, we make a stage 1 offer. We will ask you to complete new sections in your WCPG application and plan at this stage.

Do not start work on your project until you have received and accepted the relevant stage offer.

You may receive a stage 2 offer if we approve stage 1. We will then ask you to complete more new sections in your WCPG application and plan.

During these stages we send your WCPG application and plan back to you to complete the new sections. Refer to the document Sample WCPG application and plan for stage 1 and stage 2 to see what we will ask you during each stage.

If you start any work before a grant offer is agreed, we may not approve it for funding (see terms and conditions).

  5. WCPG is supported by our Grants Management System (GMS), an internal tool which supports management of some of our grants.
