I am today announcing the start of the Triennial Review of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, the National DNA Database Ethics Group and the Animals in Science Committee.

Triennial reviews are part of the government鈥檚 commitment to ensuring that non-departmental public bodies continue to have regular independent challenge. 皇冠体育app review will examine whether there is a continuing need for the functions and form of the ACMD, NDNAEG and ASC and whether they should continue to exist at arm鈥檚 length from government. Should the review conclude there is a continuing need for each of these bodies, it will go on to examine whether the body鈥檚 control and governance arrangements continue to meet the recognised principles of good corporate governance.

I shall inform the House of the outcome of the reviews.
