Public appointments are board member roles within public bodies. DCMS has around 400 regulated Public Appointment roles across 42 Public Bodies including Historic England, 皇冠体育appatres Trust, the National Gallery, UK Sport and the Gambling Commission.

From the BBC to the British Film Institute, the Science Museum to Arts Council England, these institutions are at the centre of sports, culture, tourism, charities, heritage, media and much more.

Who we鈥檙e looking for

Boards of public bodies are most effective when they reflect the diversity of views of the society they serve. We want people running our great institutions who reflect the nation. No prior experience in public appointments? No problem. What we value the most is diversity of thought, new ideas, insights and energy. If you have passion, the right skills and the drive to make a real contribution, there鈥檚 a seat at the table waiting for you.

You might be suitable if you have:

Most board roles require attending 4 to 12 meetings per year, alongside other activities such as attending events and visiting stakeholders. Some roles are paid, with all roles covering reasonable expenses, such as travel to meetings.
