Under the provisions of the Act individuals have the right to

  • find out what information the government and other organisations store about you
  • be informed how your data is usedÌý
  • access personal data
  • have incorrect data updated
  • have data erased
  • stop or restrict the processing of your dataÌý
  • allow you to get and reuse your data for different servicesÌý
  • object to how your data is processed in certain circumstancesÌý

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp Data Protection Unit DPU is responsible for all administrative aspects of the DPA within the Department.

You can obtain information about specific items of data protection

  • by requesting it from your Data Protection Officer (DPO) or from the DPU
  • by requesting it from the company secretary if there is no DPO
