Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) is a challenge fund providing grants for innovations in education, health, early childhood development and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) across Tanzania.

皇冠体育app Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) is a 拢40 million competitive challenge fund which provides grants to organisations driving innovative approaches which aim to improve the quality, value-for-money, and sustainability of basic services in:

  • health
  • education
  • water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
  • early childhood development

HDIF funds projects which use a pro-poor approach.

Background information on the fund

皇冠体育appre is a need to increase the quality of services and the quality of outcomes in order for Tanzania to reduce poverty and further its development. HDIF was established by the UK government to address these needs. It will challenge the notion of 鈥榖usiness as usual鈥� and encourage organisations to take a risk and do something different.

皇冠体育app intended impact of HDIF is improved human development outcomes for poor people in Tanzania. In addition to challenge fund grants, HDIF works in close partnership with (COSTECH) to transform the innovation eco-system by providing technical assistance, promoting active knowledge sharing and management, and stimulating evidence-based policy making that demands innovative solutions.
