皇冠体育app Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) Act 2013 came into force on 25 June 2013. 皇冠体育app role of the Adjudicator is to:
- ensure that supermarkets treat their main suppliers lawfully and fairly
- investigate complaints
- arbitrate in disputes
皇冠体育app Adjudicator enforces the Groceries Supply Code of Practice set out in the . This order came into force on 4 February 2010.
皇冠体育app legislation requires the Adjudicator to publish guidance explaining how the Groceries Code Adjudicator will run investigations, and decide on enforcement actions and the penalties to impose, as a result of complaints about GSCOP breaches. 皇冠体育app guidance sets out the steps the Adjudicator will follow and the actions available, including how and when sanctions will be applied.
皇冠体育app GCA cannot start investigations until the final guidance is published but it can arbitrate on disputes and receive complaints which may lead to an investigation. This consultation seeks feedback on the guidance before it is finalised.
